My husband and I both serve locally at the Columbus Dream Center in Ohio. It is one of the greatest joys in my life to share the love of Jesus and needed resources with those hurting in our city. We also travel to the Los Angeles Dream Center each year for a mission trip. People have been so generous in the past to help support us on these trips. I thought it would be great to offer something in return for such generosity. That's how The Weird Poppy was born. I design products I love and use the proceeds to help fund our mission trips. We are adding a trip to the Knoxville Dream Center in 2025. It will be the 5th Dream Center we've visited. To support our efforts you can shop The Weird Poppy or donate HERE.
My husband and I have been married since 1997 and we have 9 amazing children. After struggling with infertility for years we were blessed with a son. We tried again for 6 years to get pregnant. When fertility treatments failed, we became foster parents. Over the next 3 years, we adopted 3 children through foster care. We added 2 girls and a boy. Then, SURPRISE, when all the kids were between the ages of 9 and 10, we got pregnant again with a son! We called him the caboose because we thought we were done but God had other plans. A few years later we ended up taking in a family placement from relatives of 3 children ages 3 and under. That got the total to 8. Then we found out the family placement children were expecting a sibling and we brought her home from the hospital a few months later. Now all of our adoptions are final and we are happy to be a large family.
